Renviq quickstart

Create an account, verify it, provision PostgreSQL, and connect an application.

6 minute read · Updated September 2026

Before you start

Renviq provides managed PostgreSQL databases inside isolated projects. You need a verified Renviq account and a PostgreSQL client, framework, or application that accepts a standard connection URL.

  • Use a real inbox you control; verification is required before provisioning.
  • Choose a database region close to your application.
  • Keep generated credentials in a secret manager or local .env file—never commit them.

1. Create and verify your account

  1. 1Open Sign up and create your organization.
  2. 2Accept the privacy and terms acknowledgement.
  3. 3Open the verification email from auth@renviq.com and follow the link.
  4. 4If it does not arrive, open Console → Security and choose Resend email.

2. Create or select a project

A project is an isolated workspace for databases, team access, usage, backups, and settings. Use separate projects for production, staging, and development.

  1. 1Open the project switcher at the top of the console sidebar.
  2. 2Choose New project, enter a name, and create it.
  3. 3Confirm the correct project before provisioning resources.

3. Create PostgreSQL

  1. 1Open Databases and choose Create database.
  2. 2Enter a lowercase name, region, plan, and supported PostgreSQL version.
  3. 3Submit and wait until the status becomes Available.
  4. 4Choose Connect and reveal the one-time credential only when you are ready to store it.

4. Connect

Terminal
psql "$DATABASE_URL"

# Or test without psql
pg_isready -d "$DATABASE_URL"
Credential security

The initial password is encrypted at rest and designed for one successful retrieval. Copy it to a secure destination immediately; rotate it if exposure is suspected.
